Stroke :
A vessel that ruptures and bleeds into the surrounding brain either from trauma or weakening of the vessel itself. The brain does not have a lot of room as it is, so when you suffer a brain bleed it will compress the surrounding area of the brain causing damage.

- Stay active
- Reduce stress

- Quit smoking
- Alcohol abuse
- Don’t use illicit drugs
Risk factors you cannot control :
Gender at birth: Your risk of heart disease and stroke increases after menopause. Women have Unique risk factors.
Family and medical history:If a first degree relative has had a heart disease or stroke, then you are at higher risk of developing coronary artery disease.
Age: The older you are, the higher your risk of stroke
Heritage: Those of indigenous, african and south asian heritage are at higher risk of heart disease and stroke than the general population due to being more likely to have hypertension and/or diabetes.
Personal circumstance: This includes factors such as access to care, healthy food, clean water and other environmental factors.
