Being referred to a cardiologist does not necessary mean that you have life-threatening condition. If you’re treating physician, either primary care provider or specialist has a concern in regards to your heart condition, which could be simple as asking for assessment to make sure your heart is in good health, you can be referred. If you have multiple risk factors for heart disease such as diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, high cholesterol….etc, or if you had any signs indicating that you are developing a heart condition,if you have pre-existing heart condition such as heart attack, heart failure, previous bypass surgery or valve surgery…etc, these conditions require you to be assessed by cardiologist to initiate, or adjust medications and follow-up on your heart health.

The blood work that Dr. Farag orders, does not require you to fast prior to it.
you can contact your family doctor. If your medication was prescribed by Dr.Farag, he will renew it in your follow-up, or your pharmacy can fax the prescription to our office for renewal.
Dr. Farag will order testing based on your condition and the yield of diagnosis for each test. For the testing ordered by Dr. Farag, usually patient will be booked for follow-up to discuss the results, next step in management and if any other testing or intervention need to be done.
